The Proposal

Mike and I were in Miami, FL visiting Mike's Grandfather, Morris. We went down on Friday to stay until Sunday. We had an awesome time!! We had a beautiful room facing the ocean. When it rained, just like Florida, we sat on our balcony and played cards and talked. We enjoyed ourselves so much! We had a great visit with his Grandfather, we enjoyed the pool, ocean and hot tub, various drinks and lots of good food. It couldn't get any better than this. This weekend was the best time we had ever spent together and it was wonderful.

Sunday morning we got up and went down to the beach. We had talked the day before about going on the jet skis. I had never been on them and Mike wanted to show me how much fun they were. So we decided to go. We got out into the ocean and quickly realized that the water was very rocky. He gunned it for quite a while and we jumped the waves and flew into the air. All the time I am screaming from the enjoyment and from being completely scared to death. He very sweetly then let me take the wheel, so I could get a feel from it in the driver's seat. If my Grandma had been out there with me, she would have lapped me about three times. But I still enjoyed the feeling of being in control.

We still had about 15 minutes so I let Mike get back to driving. He went straight out into the ocean and stopped. The weather was gorgeous. The beach was very far away. We were surrounded in sun and blue water. He turned around and asked me if I was having fun. I quickly said yes. I told him that every time I am with him that I have the most wonderful adventures and always get to try something new and how much I love getting to spend so much wonderful time with him. He was very pleased with that answer. He looked me in the eyes with a smile and said "So, let's get married. You are the one for me and I love you forever and ever. So let's get married." I said yes, of course, and started to cry. We hugged, as best we could from a jet ski, and sat there a moment to take in the atmosphere and what had just happened.

He turned the engine back on and started going once more. Only this time it was him screaming. At the top of his lungs he was screaming "Whoo Hooo!!! We're getting married!" It was the most wonderful moment of my life. And to make it better, I actually had a dream the night before that he had asked me to marry him. I woke up at 8:00am that morning with a huge smile on my face because of the dream and within an hour and a half, it had actually come true.
